In December 2025, McAleer & Rushe hosted a Social Value Workshop in Westminster, bringing together members of its supply chain to focus on how meaningful social value can be delivered collaboratively across its projects and within local communities.

The workshop provided a platform to share practical guidance and success stories, reinforcing their shared responsibility to deliver tangible social value outcomes. Key areas of focus included apprenticeships, local employment and responsible project delivery, supporting a consistent and measurable approach to social value across projects.

The session was led by Kimberley McGinty, Social Value Manager at McAleer & Rushe, alongside Charlene Millen, Head of Sustainability, who outlined the company’s commitment to embedding social value across its operations and supporting its supply chain in meeting evolving requirements.
Commenting on the event, Kimberley McGinty said:

“We’re pleased to welcome so many of our supply chain partners today as we continue to build a shared understanding of what meaningful social value looks like. By collaborating, exchanging ideas, and supporting one another, we can achieve outcomes that truly benefit the communities we work in. Today’s workshop is an important moment in strengthening that collective effort.”

McAleer & Rushe was also pleased to welcome guest speakers Joe Brennan, Business Development Director at Joe Brennan Training, and Martyn Price MBE, Chair of Constructure, whose contributions highlighted the wider industry context and the importance of collaboration in driving improved outcomes.
Speaking at the event, Martyn Price commented:

“Achieving social value outcomes and improving communities has never been more important. There are currently just under one million NEETs in the UK and we must do all we can to reduce this number and engage with these young people.”

Joe Brennan added:

“It was refreshing to witness the enthusiasm and willingness to collaborate across McAleer & Rushe’s supply chain. The skills shortage in the industry has been well documented, and events like this can have a huge impact on increasing the uptake of apprenticeships”.

The workshop formed part of McAleer & Rushe’s ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with its supply chain to strengthen social value delivery, ensuring positive, lasting impacts for communities and the wider construction industry.
