Project Description

Construction of Phase II to the award-winning Brentford Lock West development, providing 157 new build high specification residential homes across two RC blocks –  Copland Court (Block E) and Isambard Court (Block F) along the banks of the Grand Union Canal. Works included a basement carpark, footpath and towpath alongside landscaping and garden works. The stylish and contemporary scheme, developed in three phases, is delivered by Waterside Places which is jointly owned by the Canal & River Trust and Muse Developments.

Copland Court, adjacent to the canal, provides 42 apartments, whilst Isambard Court includes 109 apartments and 6 exclusive 4-storey townhouses overlooking the central landscaped courtyard.

The scale and massing of the completed scheme with its sawtooth roof profile is reminiscent of the previously existing canal-side warehouses.  Materials, such as facing brickwork, pre-cast concrete and painted metalwork, further reflect the industrial nature of canal-side architecture.

Sustainable Development

This beautiful development has been carefully designed to maximise the water frontage with generous outdoor spaces and living accommodation have all been carefully designed to embrace it’s waterside surrounding.

Opportunities for sustainable design were optimised to include photovoltaic panels at roof level and sedum roofs and terraces. The development achieved “Code for Sustainable Homes” Level 4.
