Project Description

Redevelopment of the Grade A listed Custom House building to comprise of a four-star 303-bed Clayton Hotel and 162-bed Adagio aparthotel.

The A-Listed Custom House building has been refurbished and functions as the main entrance to the Clayton hotel with public spaces including lobby, bar, meeting and conference facilities. Adjacent to the historic building and connected, in part, by a 3-storey link building with a glazed atrium, the modern new build structure climbs 16-storeys high, providing a striking juxtaposition of old and new architecture.

To the East is the modern 13-storey Adagio Aparthotel featuring street-level bars and restaurants.

The Site

This prime redevelopment occupies a historic waterfront site in Glasgow situated on the north side of Clyde Street, facing the riverfront, just south of Glasgow’s City Centre and Buchanan Street.
