Project Description

Located on Waterloo Road near Waterloo Station, this 290 bedroom hotel includes a ground floor bar and restaurant, gym and meeting rooms. The hotel is over nine floors and features a sedium roof and solar water collectors. The top floor is set back to include a glass facade providing views across London and the River Thames. The contract included the demolition of the existing building followed by Design & Build of new, full turn-key Hampton by Hilton to include Modular Bathroom Construction. The building is over nine floors and features a sedium roof and solar water collectors. The top floor is set back to include a glass facade providing views across London and the River Thames.

The Site

The hotel’s contemporary façade is constructed from pre-cast concrete in varying tones, with wrap-around glazing at street level to encourage a connection between public spaces and passers-by. Worthy of note are the windows on the upper floors, which are recessed and angled alternately to add interest from both outside and in. The elevation subtly changes in appearance as the angles in the facia, combined with the use of cladding in different colour tones, capture light and shadow that vary according to the daylight conditions

“We are very pleased to commemorate the topping out of this impressive new building, alongside Shiva Hotels and McAleer & Rushe. Hampton by Hilton London Waterloo will be an exciting addition to our UK portfolio and a great introduction of the mid-priced brand in central London.”

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President of Development, Europe & Africa
