Project Description

Construction of a 278-bed Hampton by Hilton hotel, the first to open in the City of London. The hotel includes a restaurant, alongside meetings and events facilities.

Involving the refurbishment of the existing hotel building, this initial phase was handed over first to enable our client to open its doors to guests, offering 129 hotel bedrooms. Construction of the new build 5-storey extension on land to the rear continued with careful consideration to mitigating any impact to the trading hotel and houses the remaining 149 hotel bedrooms.

By retaining and refurbishing the existing hotel building, we have saved 1,865 tonnes CO2e of embodied carbon, which equates to an impressive 84% saving and a great example of sustainable development.

The Site

Conveniently located just off Whitechapel Road, the site sits between London’s renowned Brick Lane and the City. The tight footprint on this city-centre site surrounded by neighbouring buildings presented considerable challenges but our team successfully navigated these complexities with meticulous planning, forward thinking and on-time deliveries.
