Novotel, Cambridge
Project Description
Construction of a 217-bedroom 4-star Novotel hotel spanning across 6 storeys and includes a bar and restaurant, gym and swimming pool, conference facilities, as well as 160 sqm of retail space. The new hotel development acted as the opening scheme to the wider Cambridge North mixed use regeneration masterplan by Brookgate.
The façade is entirely precast concrete façade with integrated brick finish and aluminium windows, fitted to an in-situ concrete frame, built on piled foundations. The building has elastomeric bearings installed to provide vibration isolation for the bedrooms.
The Site
The site is located directly adjacent to the Cambridge North rail station with within walking distance to the area’s business parks, attractions and transport links. The hotel is one of the first buildings to welcome visitors and the local community to this exciting revitalisation of the Cambridge North area.
