Project Description
Construction of a 284-bed purpose-built student accommodation scheme, with 35% designated as affordable accommodation.
Designed to achieve a BREEAM “Excellent” rating, the development reflects Firethorn’s and McAleer & Rushe’s shared commitment to delivering sustainable, best-in-class student living.
Residents will enjoy a range of high-quality amenities, including spacious common rooms, dedicated study areas, an on-site gym, and landscaped breakout spaces. In addition, a dedicated community space for local residents will be delivered as part of the scheme, strengthening the project’s connection with the surrounding Stratford community.
The Site
Located on Stratford High Street in East London, the Poland House development occupies a highly accessible position within one of the capital’s most dynamic regeneration areas. The site benefits from excellent transport links, with Stratford Station and Stratford High Street DLR providing direct connections across London and beyond. 2
Students will be within easy reach of leading universities, including UCL East and University of the Arts London, both less than a 15-minute walk away, as well as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Stratford’s extensive retail and leisure amenities.
The scheme has been designed to complement the surrounding urban environment, contributing to the continued transformation of Stratford into a vibrant mixed-use district and enhancing the local streetscape through high-quality, sustainable architecture.
