Project Description
Construction of 359 homes, split between market and intermediate rent, as part of The Bermondsey Project masterplan. The homes will be spread across two building structures, the first containing Blocks 1 to 4 interlinked, reaching 10-storeys in height and comprising 309 units. The second main structure being Block 5 will deliver 50 units and consist of 7 storeys.
The development will provide extensive amenity spaces, remote working lounges, a community centre, state-of-the-art gym facilities, a rooftop padel court, as well as private communal landscaped gardens. The scheme is designed to achieve a BREEAM Very Good rating and a Home Quality Mark Level 4 standard.
The Site
The Bermondsey Project is one of London’s largest regeneration projects, situated on a brownfield site, formerly a biscuit factory in Bermondsey, South London. The 12-acre scheme will see the transformation of the longstanding, underutilised site into a world-class residential neighbourhood. The site is situated approximately 300metres south of Bermondsey Underground Station, and its architectural design will pay homage to the area’s rich history of industrial buildings and character of the existing railway arches running south of the site.
The scheme delivers a 799% increase in ecology with the incorporation of green roofs, planting, and bird and bat box installations. The project will also utilise prefabricated bathroom pods and utility cupboards to work towards reduced carbon emissions.
