Project Description
A redevelopment of the former ABC cinema site delivering 167 later living apartments across four blocks arranged around a central courtyard with nine lower ground floor street facing retail units.
The apartments will be a mixture of 1 and 2-bedroom homes with floor to ceiling windows, maximising sunlight through the 1.5 acre development. Complimented by communal amenity spaces such as a restaurant, private dining rooms, and wellness facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, and treatment rooms.
A whole-life net zero carbon project, the development will be net zero carbon across both its development and operational lifespan. The development design will implement an all-electric heating and hot water model through roof top ASHP systems, complimented with a high quality landscaping scheme.
The Site
Situated in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells on a prominent corner of Church Road and Mount Pleasant Road, the development will transform a site that lain derelict for over two decades. The brownfield site has a 9-metre differential in levels and is positioned above a Network Rail Tunnel.
As well as the retirement apartments, the new 210,000 sq ft GIA community will deliver publicly accessible amenities including a café, a restaurant, a courtyard garden and almost 10,000 sq ft of retail frontage along Mount Pleasant and Church Roads.
