Leading Design & Build Contractor, McAleer & Rushe has achieved a Bronze Accreditation from Diversity Mark, marking a significant milestone in their Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) journey.
The Diversity Mark is awarded to companies following an independent assessment process which ensures they have reached the required standard of commitment to advancing Diversity and Inclusion.
This milestone is a significant ‘Mark of Progress’ reflecting on the steps undertaken to date, and the ongoing commitment and drive to implementing the many building blocks within the company’s EDI strategy to nurture a thriving and inclusive environment for its diverse workforce.
Through the Diversity Mark accreditation, McAleer & Rushe have established three key targets focused on gender diversity, alongside the formulation of an EDI Strategy to be reviewed and audited on an annual basis.
The company will be implementing measures over the coming 12 months and beyond to meet these objectives, thereby making a meaningful impact on diversity and inclusion both within the organisation and throughout the broader industry.
At a management level, the company has appointed Emmett McGinley, Commercial Director as its Diversity & Inclusion Champion who will drive the EDI strategy alongside the Human Resources department. This includes the establishment of an EDI Working Group which will be open to all members of staff.
Emmett McGinley, Commercial Director at McAleer & Rushe comments on the accreditation:
“As a leading employer within an industry that is marked by a notable underrepresentation of women, we understand our responsibility to showcase opportunities for females and to foster an inclusive environment where they can excel.
Our success derives not only from project excellence, but from our people who are the heartbeat of our business. Having a diverse workforce allows us to deliver a Built Environment for everyone as well as strengthening our continuing ability to add value beyond expectation.
Together, with the support of our senior leadership, HR department and our wider workforce, we are committed to fostering, promoting, and advocating for an inclusive workplace for our growing workforce.”
Emma Lyttle, Head of Engagement at Diversity Mark commented:
“Congratulations to all the team at McAleer & Rushe on this robust achievement. The eagerness to commit to progress not only for their own employees but the wider sector and next generation is to be commended. We look forward to continuing to support their ongoing actions and initiatives.”
