Leading design and build contractor McAleer & Rushe has celebrated the structural completion of The Printworks, a landmark Purpose-Built Student Accommodation development for High Road West (Tottenham) Limited at 807 & 819–829 Tottenham High Road, London N17.

The milestone was marked with a topping out ceremony on Tuesday 30 June, bringing together representatives from the client, project team and delivery partners to celebrate the significant progress achieved and recognise the collaborative effort behind the scheme.

The Printworks will provide approximately 287 high-quality student bedrooms through a carefully considered combination of contemporary new-build accommodation and the sensitive restoration of listed buildings along Tottenham High Road. Eleven student rooms will be created within the retained heritage buildings fronting the High Road, with the remaining accommodation delivered within a modern new-build development to the rear.

By seamlessly integrating the restored buildings into the wider development, the scheme will protect and celebrate the site’s architectural significance while delivering a modern, sustainable student living environment.
The design carefully preserves and reimagines the site’s historic architecture, seamlessly integrating the retained buildings into a cohesive, high-quality development that respects the area’s heritage while creating a modern student living environment.

The scheme also includes high-quality internal and external amenity spaces, landscaped gardens and shared social areas, creating a modern living environment that supports student wellbeing while contributing positively to the wider regeneration of Tottenham High Road.

Paul Murray, Project Director at McAleer & Rushe, said:

“Topping out at The Printworks is a key milestone for everyone involved in this exemplary project and reflects the dedication, expertise and collaborative approach of the entire team. We are proud to be playing a key role in the regeneration of Tottenham High Road and look forward to handing over a development that will provide exceptional accommodation for students while preserving the area’s rich architectural character.”
