Following a great reception in its inaugural year, the CEF health and safety initiative, Safety Reboot, returns for a second year in January 2022. The month-long program aims to encourage construction companies to stop work for about fifteen minutes, once a week throughout January to take time to focus on key areas of health and safety.

McAleer & Rushe are proud to support this important initiative returning in January 2022 and every one of our sites across the UK and Ireland will be taking part in the month-long program. We are delighted to have a network of sub-contractors that share our principals in prioritising Health & Safety at all times and we value their support and engagement with this exercise.

The CEF health & safety committee has provided resources to enable all in the NI construction industry to get involved. Question packs can be used to stimulate discussion on the chosen topic and a helpful discussion aid is available for each subject to reassure the member of staff facilitating the discussion.

Topics from last year remain available with new resources on asbestos, underground services and respirable crystalline silica. Resources are available on the CEF website: https://www.cefni.co.uk/news/safety-reboot-2022-resources

Safety Reboot is a wonderful opportunity for NI construction firms to show off the effort they put into health and safety on a daily basis to keep their sites and staff safe. Social media posts highlighting your involvement should be shared through the hashtag #safetyreboot
